LOCAL NOTES:
Red Wattlebirds are large grey honeyeaters that are regularly seen around the village.
They have distinctive red wattles (fleshy red flaps) on the side of their neck and a yellow belly.
You can often hear their raucous call.
On summer evenings, you see them sitting on the powerlines then swooping up to catch insects.
