BOTANICAL NAME : Salicornia quinqueflora

FAMILY : Chenopodiaceae

PLANT GROUP : Shrubs

SIZE : Prostrate

EVC : Coastal Saltmarsh

LOCAL NOTES:

Low growing prostrate leafless shrub to 30 cm.

It is succulent and bright green or red in colour with slender longer cylindrical segments.

It can have between 10-18 flowers in a row March to June.

Beaded glasswort can be seen along the edges of Shallow Inlet, in the saltmarsh area and on walking tracks (Designated track and Roy Henderson Trail) where sea water inundates areas frequently.
