LOCAL NOTES:
Native to New Zealand and introduced to Australia (including Sandy Point) as a salt tolerant hedging plant. It is now a serious environmental weed.
Birds spread Mirror Bush by eating its fruit. It is one of a few trees species able to grow in coastal saltmarsh areas.
Mirror bush is being targeted for removal in the Shallow Inlet Coastal Banksia Woodland Project site.
